Data Engineer

Focus Group is recruiting for the role of Data Engineer. A Data Engineer is sought to join a growing data and analytics team, helping to develop and enhance a Snowflake data warehouse. The role also supports internal AI solutions and brings new data sources onto the platform.

What you’ll do

• Build and maintain SQL data products in dbt.
• Make sure data is accessible, reliable, and ready for analysts to use.
• Design and maintain efficient, scalable SQL databases.
• Write Python scripts for data processing, ETL, and database interactions.
• Support the rollout of AI solutions across the data platform.
• Document processes and pipelines to support the wider team.
• Test and validate changes thoroughly before deployment.

What they’re looking for

• Have 2-3 years' experience as a Data Engineer.
• Be expert-level in SQL and able to write and optimise complex queries.
• Have strong experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Be fluent in Python.
• Understand database architecture and query performance.
• Be familiar with Git and understand cloud computing.
• Take a proactive, logical approach to problem-solving and show a genuine appetite to learn.
• Have experience within an MSP or familiarity with networking concepts as a bonus.

• The role is based in Shoreham-by-Sea in a hybrid arrangement.
