SussexDigital

The home of Sussex’s digital community

About SussexDigital

Sussex has one of the UK’s most vibrant digital economies.

Thousands of people work in technology, digital, creative and innovation businesses across Brighton & Hove, Worthing, Crawley, Chichester, Eastbourne and dozens of other places in the county. Every week there are community meetups, conferences, workshops, networking events and opportunities to learn, collaborate and grow.

Yet much of it remains surprisingly difficult to discover.

Communities often operate independently. Events are spread across dozens of platforms. Businesses struggle to see what’s happening beyond their own networks. People moving into the area often have no idea where to start.

SussexDigital exists to change that.

Our vision

We’re building the front door to Sussex’s digital economy.

A place where anyone can discover the people, organisations, opportunities and ideas that make Sussex one of the UK’s most exciting places to build a digital career or business.

Whether you’re looking for your next event, searching for a job, exploring coworking spaces, finding business support or simply trying to meet people who share your interests, SussexDigital aims to make those connections easier.

Our goal isn’t to replace the fantastic communities and organisations already doing great work.

It’s to help more people find them.

Built for the whole ecosystem

SussexDigital brings together information from across the county to make the ecosystem easier to navigate.

That includes:

  • Digital communities
  • Events and conferences
  • Coworking spaces
  • Jobs
  • Business support
  • Learning opportunities
  • Organisations helping Sussex’s digital sector grow

Over time we’ll continue adding new ways to help people discover what Sussex has to offer.

Why I started SussexDigital

Back in 2008 I was simply looking for other people nearby doing similar work.

That search eventually led to WorthingDigital, which has grown into a thriving community that has hosted more than 150 events over the last decade.

One lesson kept coming up.

People would regularly tell me:

“I didn’t know this existed.”

The more people I spoke to around Sussex, the more I realised the same thing was happening everywhere. Brilliant communities, events and organisations were doing incredible work, but too many people simply didn’t know they were there.

SussexDigital grew from that simple observation.

If we make it easier to discover what’s already happening, more connections are made, communities grow stronger, organisations reach wider audiences and the whole region benefits.

This is only the beginning

Today’s SussexDigital is already helping people discover communities, events, coworking spaces, jobs and opportunities across Sussex.

Tomorrow it can become much more.

As the platform grows, we want it to become an indispensable resource for anyone interested in Sussex’s digital economy—from students and job seekers to founders, investors, employers, policymakers and people considering relocating to the region.

Because when it’s easier to discover each other, more good things happen.
