Solution Engineer – Network

Focus Group is recruiting for the role of Solution Engineer – Network. This role is in the networking team, delivering remote and on-site support, infrastructure deployments and technical consultancy. It combines hands-on project delivery, technical escalation, documentation and mentoring across customer networking work.

What you’ll do

• Deliver installation, configuration and maintenance of customer infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve advanced infrastructure issues across networking estates.
• Act as an escalation point for complex technical faults in networking.
• Lead networking projects, including refreshes, LAN/WAN and SD-WAN rollouts, and firewall and wireless deployments.
• Manage technical workstreams within larger programmes.
• Attend customer calls for technical scoping, solution design and implementation planning.
• Document site surveys, technical audits and readiness assessments.
• Support customer onboarding and technology transitions.

• Have proven experience in a support, infrastructure or solutions delivery role.
• Communicate technical ideas clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Use strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Maintain excellent attention to detail and documentation standards.
• Work independently and as part of a project team.
• Be flexible about working hours or travel for project requirements.
• Hold a full valid UK driving licence.
• Show demonstrable expertise in networking, including VLANs, routing and switching, firewalls, WAN/SD-WAN and wireless design and deployment.
