Lead Software Developer in Test

Elekta is recruiting for the role of Lead Software Developer in Test. Lead the quality engineering strategy for Elekta’s radiation therapy treatment systems, working with software engineers, testers, Product Owners and architects. The role focuses on automated test frameworks, test automation strategy, CI/CD integration and supporting complex, safety-critical software.

What you’ll do

• Lead the design, development and evolution of automated test frameworks for complex, safety-critical software.
• Define and implement test automation strategies that support high-quality software delivery.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency, reliability and release confidence.
• Act as the technical authority for test architecture, tooling and quality engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with development teams, Product Owners and architects to build scalable and testable solutions.
• Mentor and support SDETs, test engineers and other team members, fostering a quality-first mindset.
• Drive continuous improvement through the adoption of new testing technologies, tools and practices.
• Support investigation and resolution of complex software quality issues and contribute to long-term quality roadmaps.

What they’re looking for

• Significant experience as a Software Developer in Test, SDET or Test Automation Engineer, with expertise in designing and owning automation frameworks.
• Strong experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and implementing modern DevSecOps practices.
• Hands-on experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Cypress, Selenium or similar automation technologies.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to influence teams and promote a shift-left testing culture.
• Experience troubleshooting complex software quality challenges and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and a passion for delivering high-quality, maintainable software.
