Senior Data Scientist

Humara is recruiting for the role of Senior Data Scientist. Senior Data Scientist needed to work on a multi-agent conversational sales product, focusing on agentic and LLM-driven systems that perform reliably in production and drive conversion. The role sits in cross-functional teams and involves delivering work end to end against quarterly OKRs.

What you’ll do

• Design, build and ship LLM and agent-based systems from first prototype to live product.
• Build retrieval pipelines covering RAG, ranking, recommendation, summarisation and grounded Q&A.
• Train, fine-tune and optimise models, mainly for language tasks.
• Define success measures using offline evals, experiments and production monitoring linked to user and commercial outcomes.
• Keep systems dependable through automated testing, observability, troubleshooting and incident response.
• Set the bar for code quality, security, data governance and documentation.
• Work closely with engineering, data and product teams, and mentor others.

What they’re looking for

• Extensive experience in data science and machine learning is required.
• Hands-on delivery of LLM-powered and agentic systems running in production at scale is required.
• Strong Python and experience with PyTorch, scikit-learn or similar frameworks are required.
• Hands-on LLM work, including prompting, fine-tuning, grounding and guardrails, is required.
• Experience with agentic systems at scale, including orchestration, tracing and evals, is required.
• A solid grounding in statistics and ML theory across the listed areas is required.
• Full model lifecycle and MLOps experience, including containerisation and deployment on AWS, is required.
• Working with large text datasets and data pipelines is required.

Additional role information

• AI tools and agents are used as a core part of how the work is done.
• Experience with reinforcement learning or an understanding of sales psychology is described as desirable.
• The role requires regular travel to the Brighton office.
