Digital Product Lead Designer

Virgin Atlantic is recruiting for the role of Digital Product Lead Designer. Lead the design of a major digital customer journey, creating intuitive, accessible experiences and improving them through research, behavioural data and experimentation. The role also involves working with Product, Engineering and Analytics, and exploring how AI can improve both customer experiences and design practice.

What you’ll do

• Lead the end-to-end design of a major digital customer journey from discovery and prototyping through to delivery and continuous improvement.
• Work with Product Managers, Engineers and Analysts to turn customer needs and business goals into simple digital experiences.
• Identify where AI can improve customer experiences and design ways of working, making sure solutions are responsible and trustworthy.
• Champion accessible, inclusive and consistent design by evolving the design system and maintaining high standards across products and platforms.
• Use customer research, behavioural data and experimentation to validate ideas, measure success and improve digital experiences.
• Coach and support fellow designers, sharing best practice and helping grow capability across the wider design team.

What they’re looking for

• Proven experience leading the design of complex digital products or customer journeys, with a strong portfolio of web and app work from concept through to delivery.
• Deep expertise in UX, UI, interaction design and accessible, inclusive design, with experience developing and evolving scalable design systems.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, working with Product, Engineering and senior leaders to influence decisions through customer insight and design thinking.
• Experience applying AI within product design, including AI-assisted workflows or AI-enabled experiences, with sound judgement on where AI adds value.
• A collaborative leadership style, with experience mentoring designers, raising design standards and supporting new tools, ways of working and continuous improvement.

Additional role information

• This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct line management responsibility.
