Principal Software Engineer – Shared Components

Elekta is recruiting for the role of Principal Software Engineer – Shared Components. This role provides technical leadership for shared software components and services used across the product portfolio. It focuses on defining technical direction, guiding architectural decisions and helping deliver secure, scalable, maintainable software.

What you’ll do

• Lead the design, development and maintenance of shared software components and services using C#/.NET.
• Define APIs, integration contracts and component boundaries to support interoperability and backward compatibility.
• Guide architectural and technical decisions across performance, scalability, security, reliability and maintainability.
• Drive software quality through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD practices and engineering standards.
• Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis and resolution of complex product, integration and customer issues.
• Contribute to safety, cybersecurity and risk management activities, including vulnerability remediation and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with architects, product teams and engineering leaders to manage technical priorities, dependencies and delivery plans.
• Mentor engineers and help improve technical expertise, engineering practices and software quality.

What they’re looking for

• Extensive software engineering experience with a strong background in C#, .NET / ASP.NET Core and distributed systems.
• Experience designing reusable services, versioned APIs, microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, cloud-native technologies and modern deployment practices.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing and development tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins or equivalent.
• Experience leading technical initiatives, influencing architecture decisions and mentoring engineers.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance technical quality, delivery priorities and risk.
• Experience working within healthcare, medical technology or other regulated environments.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, GitOps, infrastructure automation and scripting.
