Solution Architect – Networking & Security

Focus Group is recruiting for the role of Solution Architect – Networking & Security. This role owns the technical design of multi-site networking and security projects, from pre-sales through hand-over, while staying hands-on through build, migration and commissioning. It combines architecture with customer-facing delivery across SD-WAN, SASE, firewall and routing/switching work.

What you’ll do

• Own end-to-end technical design for multi-site networking and security projects.
• Translate customer requirements into High-Level and Low-Level Designs.
• Work alongside delivery engineers on build, migration and commissioning.
• Carry out configuration, build, migration and commissioning work yourself.
• Travel to customer sites to lead workshops, attend kick-offs, run surveys and complete installation work.
• Produce design, build and hand-over documents to a customer-facing standard.
• Review engineer-produced configurations, change records and build documents.
• Lead and mentor delivery engineers and support their development.

What they’re looking for

• Hold CCNP as a minimum.
• Have hands-on experience with Fortinet platforms in production environments.
• Have practical experience delivering SSE or SASE technology.
• Have design and delivery experience on at least one major SD-WAN platform.
• Know networking fundamentals including routing and switching, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, IPsec, QoS, DNS, DHCP and wireless.
• Have delivered multi-site network and security projects end to end.
• Have hands-on, on-site implementation experience, including UK travel and physical installation work.
• Communicate clearly in writing and speaking to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Additional role information

• The role includes planned out-of-hours work for change windows.
• The role involves regular travel to customer sites.
