Things are looking a little quieter across Sussex this week. We’ve only got a couple of events in the calendar, which perhaps isn’t too surprising in the middle of August.
If you organise events, though, now is a good time to start thinking about what you’ve got planned for after the summer holidays. Get your upcoming events onto SussexDigital now and start drumming up some interest before September arrives.

Can you help with some research?
We’ve also been asked to help with some research into how startups are actually using AI for marketing.
An MBA researcher is looking to hear from founders, co-founders and marketing leads at startups using AI. They’re interested in where it’s making a real difference, where it might be overhyped, and whether it’s giving smaller teams a genuine advantage.
The survey is anonymous and takes around 7–8 minutes to complete. If that sounds like you, please consider taking part. And if you know someone else who fits the bill, feel free to pass it on.

Brighton Indie Coffee returns to St. Ann's Well Garden Cafe, with the usual no-agenda setup and a clearly game-dev crowd. It’s a straightforward mid-morning meet-up, with room for projects, advice and general chat.

Brighton ALT.NET is back with its standard lean coffee format at Friday Ad Ltd on East Street. Beer and pizzas are provided as usual, with plenty of opportunity for conversation with the local .NET community.
Something to look forward to
If August is feeling a little quiet, there’s already plenty appearing in the calendar for the autumn.
One to look ahead to is EARL 2026: Data Intelligence Conference, taking place in Brighton from 6–8 October.
EARL brings together people working across data, analytics, R, Python and AI for three days of talks, workshops, keynotes and networking, with a focus on how organisations are putting data intelligence to work in the real world.
