September is arriving with rather more enthusiasm than August left with. This week’s calendar is especially busy on Tuesday and Wednesday, with everything from Notion and hardware projects to AI, indie games and live coding.
We’ve also picked out two very different local jobs: one for an AI engineer in Crawley and another for a digital designer in Brighton.

4 Incredible Projects at Breaking Breadboards

Breaking Breadboards brings four projects to Freedom Works, with an agenda that moves from pizza and introductions into smart telescope mounts, Claude-assisted 3D design and more. It is one of the more hands-on Brighton hardware nights, and it is hybrid too.

Brighton Indie Social

Brighton Indie Social keeps things loose at Alcampo Lounge, with no agenda and no expectation beyond showing up. It covers video games, board games, card games, interactive fiction, escape rooms and tabletop, which is broader than the title suggests.
Brighton Blockchain Meetup

Brighton Blockchain Meetup continues its every-other-Wednesday slot at The Southern Belle, staying firmly in casual social territory. The group describes itself as open to newcomers, and the back-room pub setting fits that low-key brief.
The Farm Digital Freelancers Meetup

The Farm is the long-running Wednesday freelancing meet at the Battle of Trafalgar, where chat matters more than business cards. It is aimed at a fairly broad slice of digital freelance work, from web and app design to copywriting and sysadmin tasks.

Async’s latest Web Tech Meetup has Chris Villa talking through how he built an AI page builder in Puck Editor. It is a live-coding evening, so the draw here is the process as much as the result, with pizza, drinks and a remote stream built in.
